In 2200, athletic competitions might be held on other worlds. In a skysurfing event, after ascending to 200 kilometers above a terraformed Mars, the athlete detaches the raked cone aeroshell from its space elevator car. Plunging through the tenuous Martian atmosphere, shifts in body weight allow the competitor to maneuver the craft through a designated path before parachuting the last 10 kilometers.
